Global Accessibility Awareness Day

Global Accessibility Awareness Day is held on the 3rd Thursday of each May, where designers, developers, usability experts and everyone else are encouraged to take time to experience first-hand the impact of digital accessibility.

Thursday 21st, 2020 is the ninth Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD), and the first since we started our company last June so we want to help build awareness and contribute to the campaign by running a webinar on accessibility and Moodle.

We are holding a one hour webinar “7 Tips to Improve Accessibility in your Moodle Courses” at 6pm IST on Zoom and will publish the recording next week. Gavin Henrick will be joined by Dr. Mark Glynn, Michelle Moore, Dr. Mark Melia and Karen Holland to discuss question close to all Moodlers’ hearts:

  • What are the challenges around accessibility in Moodle?
  • What type of testing to carry out?
  • What resources can be used to help fix the issues?
  • What improvements are coming in Moodle 3.9?

When you consider students and staff requirements for an accessible learning platform, it goes beyond the technology into course design, course materials and also student created content.
