Jisc’s Accessibility Drop-in Clinic

Jisc run a live online accessibility clinic that allows the community to ask questions about digital inclusion, provide feedback on problematic areas, and share their accessibility journey.

The clinic also gives attendees signposting and resources to communities of practice where appropriate and allows attendees to establish links with people working to overcome similar challenges.

The Accessibility Clinics run from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm on the first Wednesday of each month in the academic calendar.

Find out more about Jisc’s Accessibility drop-in clinic on their Accessibility drop-in clinic website.

Moodle Accessibility Practices

Kicking off the first drop-in clinic of 2022, we showcased the best practices you can adopt in your Moodle courses to improve accessibility.

This was an hour-long showcase hosted by Kellie Mote (Jisc) and Gavin Henrick (Brickfield Education Labs).

Here’s what we covered:

  • An overview of the ‘Moodle Accessibility Toolkit’ functionality – what it does, what it doesn’t do
  • The importance of WCAG
  • The addition of Brickfield Labs Moodle Accessibility Toolkit as a Moodle Certified Integration
  • How to approach accessibility in Moodle course content

Thank you!

We are grateful for the opportunity to showcase at the Jisc accessibility drop-in clinic. Thank you to everyone who dropped in to our showcase on Wednesday. We were delighted to share with you our knowledge and experience!
